ZYN finally brings fruit flavors to US pouch buyers

ZYN added three new permanent fruit flavors to its US lineup — Black Cherry, Peach, and Dragonberry — in 3mg and 6mg, bringing the dry mini-pouch range to 26 variants. US buyers had previously imported European ZYN fruit cans to get past mint and citrus. The expansion lands as Velo Plus and On! Plus eat into ZYN's share.

ZYN, the US market-leading nicotine pouch brand owned by Philip Morris International, has added three new permanent fruit flavors to its American lineup: Black Cherry, Peach, and Dragonberry. All three are available nationwide in 3mg and 6mg strengths, in ZYN's standard tobacco leaf-free, dry mini-pouch format.

The expansion brings ZYN's flagship US range to 26 variants — 13 distinct flavors across the two strengths. The full flavor list now runs: Smooth, Chill, Menthol, Cool Mint, Peppermint, Spearmint, Wintergreen, Citrus, Coffee, Cinnamon, Black Cherry, Peach, and Dragonberry.

What the new flavors are

According to trade coverage and ZYN's own product page, the three additions are positioned as permanent — not limited drops:

  • Black Cherry — a dark cherry flavor with tart undertones and a smooth finish, pitched as avoiding the medicinal taste common to cherry nicotine products. Early community reviewers call it the standout of the three.
  • Peach — a crisp, all-day fruit pouch designed to be sweet without turning syrupy over extended wear.
  • Dragonberry — a tropical fusion of dragon fruit and mixed berries, aimed at users who want something beyond the mint-and-citrus default.

All three keep ZYN's existing format: dry, mini, discreet, smoke-free, spit-free, sold to adults 21+ through brick-and-mortar retailers and online.

Why it matters

Until now, ZYN's US lineup was dominated by mint, menthol, and citrus. American buyers who wanted ZYN fruit flavors had been importing European-market cans through online resellers — a workaround that the new permanent US range effectively removes. Giving the US a native fruit lineup closes a long-standing gap between ZYN's European and American portfolios.

It also lands at a moment when ZYN can no longer win on distribution alone. PMI's Q2 2026 results showed ZYN's US growth slowing sharply as Velo Plus and On! Plus took share. ZYN has already responded on strength — ZYN Ultra, a moist, higher-strength slim pouch — but flavor breadth is the other lever, and it is the one competitors have been pulling hardest. Permanent fruit flavors give ZYN a defensive answer to the flavor-led challenger strategy without relying on limited drops.

The competitive logic is simple: in a category where the top brand still leans mint-heavy, flavor variety is one of the few ways for challengers to differentiate — and one of the cheapest ways for the leader to neutralize that advantage.

What's next

The three flavors are live now and rolling out across US retail and online. The open question is whether ZYN treats fruit as a one-time catch-up addition or keeps expanding the permanent range — and whether any of the limited and seasonal flavors it has tested elsewhere eventually join the standing US lineup.

For now, US ZYN buyers no longer need to import a can to get past mint.
