Turning Point Brands Names Glazek CEO as Purdy Steps Down

Turning Point Brands — the company behind FRE and ALP nicotine pouches — has a new CEO. David Glazek, who currently serves as Executive Chairman, will succeed Graham Purdy, who is stepping down for personal reasons.

The timing puts Glazek in charge as Turning Point pushes hard into the nicotine pouch market. In August alone, the company launched FRE Labs, a consumer-voting platform for limited-edition flavors, and rolled out ALP's Frontier Collection — three new flavors backed by a Western-themed campaign with creator Dave "Heavy D" Sparks.

What This Means for the Pouch Brands

Turning Point has been aggressive in flavor innovation and direct-to-consumer strategy. FRE Labs sells online-only small-batch pouches in 6mg and 12mg strengths, while ALP — the Tucker Carlson-backed brand — launched Cowboy Coffee, Campfire Cinnamon, and Sunset Mango in 4mg and 8mg as its biggest release to date.

Glazek inherits a portfolio that's betting on limited drops and consumer engagement to compete with ZYN and VELO. Whether the leadership change affects that strategy remains to be seen, but the product pipeline is already loaded.

No transition date was announced.
