From 1 June 2027, all advertising and sponsorship of nicotine pouches becomes illegal across the UK under the Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026 — covering social media, billboards, shop windows, and paid online ads. Nicotine pouches currently have zero advertising restrictions. A separate consultation on plain packaging and retail display restrictions closes on 2 October 2026.

Ireland has never had specific rules for nicotine pouches. A bill now moving through parliament would ban their sale to under-18s, prohibit advertising and point-of-sale display, and "future-proof" the law to cover any new nicotine product. It cleared the Dáil in late June 2026 and is in the Seanad — not yet law.
