The daily pulse of the nicotine pouch market

LUCY embedded its nicotine pouches inside a Twitch streamer's 3D character

Nicotine pouch brand LUCY signed a multi-year deal with TheBurntPeanut — 2.4 million Twitch followers — embedding LUCY Breakers into a custom holster on his 3D character model across six platforms. It is not a sponsored segment. It is canon. And it lands as regulators in the UK and US are shutting the traditional advertising doors pouch brands used to walk through.

Most brand sponsorships on Twitch are a logo on a overlay and a read on a break. LUCY did something different: it put its nicotine pouches inside the streamer.

On 30 July 2026, the Las Vegas-based nicotine pouch brand announced a multi-year partnership with TheBurntPeanut — the streamer behind the "Peanut-verse," a custom 3D universe built around his character. Under the deal, TheBurntPeanut carries LUCY Breakers pouches in a custom holster built directly into his on-screen character model, visible across Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Kick, Instagram, and X.

It is LUCY's first fully custom, narrative-driven creator partnership, and it is built to read as part of the show rather than an interruption to it.

What happened

TheBurntPeanut is not a creator who was handed a box of pouches for a video. He is a real nicotine pouch user, known on stream for reaching for what his fandom calls "six milli delights." After he got hold of 8mg LUCY Breakers, viewers noticed the shift to "eight milli delights" — and LUCY turned the community's own shorthand into the campaign.

The partnership also includes a co-branded on-shelf debut. Per the announcement, "LUCY Breakers meets The Burnt Peanut on shelf, marking the partnership's debut."

The first integration went live the week of 20 July 2026. The deal is multi-year.

The numbers behind it: TheBurntPeanut has roughly 1.97 million YouTube subscribers and 2.4 million Twitch followers, with a growing footprint on TikTok, Kick, Instagram, and X. According to LUCY, 86% of his Twitch audience is aged 25 and over — adults, and the exact consumer a nicotine pouch brand sells to.

"You know I use nicotine pouches every stream. It's been LUCY for a long time, and I'm excited they're an official sponsor of the stream," TheBurntPeanut said in the announcement.

David Renteln, CEO of LUCY, framed the logic: "We've been big fans of his content for a while now — and admire the community that he's built around him. Fortunately for us, he was a fan of our product too — and so this deal just made perfect sense to us."

Why it matters

Legacy nicotine brands spent decades buying trust through TV and print. That playbook is being closed off.

In the UK, the Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026 — which received Royal Assent on 29 April 2026 — makes it an offence from 29 October 2026 to give away nicotine pouches for free, sell them at a substantial promotional discount, or issue promotional coupons. From 1 June 2027, all advertising and sponsorship of nicotine pouches becomes illegal across the UK. Nicotine pouches currently have no advertising restrictions at all.

In the US, the Food and Drug Administration's marketing-granted-order framework and advertising constraints mean pouch brands cannot simply buy airtime the way cigarette brands once did. The result is that the most valuable route to adult consumers now runs through the creators those consumers already watch for hours a night.

That is the structural shift this deal sits on top of. TheBurntPeanut's audience does not show up for a network selling airtime — they show up for a world he built himself, down to the character on screen. LUCY's bet is that a pouch embedded in that world lands as canon, not as an ad.

The distinction matters. Most brands that try creator integrations still land as "an ad nobody asked for," to borrow the announcement's own framing. LUCY's argument is that it avoided that problem because it built its base the same way TheBurntPeanut built his: direct, digital, no permission needed — and because the creator was already a genuine user of the product.

What's next

Expect more of this. As traditional advertising channels for nicotine pouches narrow in both the UK and the US, the brands that grow will be the ones that find a way to live inside the content their adult customers already consume, rather than beside it.

The LUCY x TheBurntPeanut deal is the sharpest example so far of a pouch brand treating a streamer's universe as the product placement, not the stream itself. Whether the integration holds audience trust over a multi-year term — and whether competitors follow the same playbook — is the open question.

What is not in question is the direction of travel. Regulators are closing the doors pouch brands used to walk through. The creators are building the rooms they are now walking into.
